Having won their way into the hearts of Australian consumers, Thankyou is a brand with a social conscious.
You may have seen Thankyou’s products in stores like Woolworths, Coles and 7 Eleven. And, if you know anything about the way that Thankyou works, you would know they are not your average company.
Thankyou is a social enterprise that donates 100% of their profits back into development projects globally. Since its launch in 2008, Thankyou have generated millions of development dollars for water, food and sanitation projects in countries that need it most.
Today, Thankyou have over 40 products on offer and can be found in 5000 outlets Australia wide. However, not even a decade ago Thankyou was nothing more than the vision of a group of friends who came up with the idea of creating a bottled water brand highlighting the “two water extremes”, that saw the Australian bottled water industry worth an estimated $600 million a year while over 900 million people didn’t have access to safe drinking water on a daily basis.
The profits from every bottle of water sold went to funding water projects in developing countries, with a unique tracking code on each bottle enabling consumers to see exactly where their money was going.
Great success saw the company make the decision to expand, forming their food and body care ranges to help with issues like access to food, hygiene and sanitation.
Most recently, Thankyou decided to venture into the baby and toddler product market, with a range of baby body care and disposable and modern cloth reusable nappy products that will fund child and maternal health programs across the world.
When you look at the statistics, it’s truly incredible to see the impact Thankyou have made in helping those living in extreme poverty. As of October 2016, Thankyou have helped fund water and sanitation services for 444,082 people and have helped fund food access to 127,239 people and over 28 million days of food. In just the first 3 months of launching their baby range, Thankyou have helped fund child and maternal health service for 1,011 people, with all these figures continuing to grow daily.
For most of us, it’s very easy to take for granted everyday luxuries such as ready access to clean water, food and medical support and assistance, but not everyone in the world is this lucky. Thankyou are doing their best to help millions of people in need worldwide, with the ultimate goal of ending global poverty. But, it all comes down to the support of consumers. Almost a billion people live in extreme poverty, while six billion don’t. Together, the six billion of us could put an end to global poverty, for good! So, make sure you stock up on the Thankyou name and in turn help make a difference to the lives of those in need.
