It’s hard not to fall head over heels in love with the adorable Phoenix & the Fox range of kids clothing. We know the Tinitrader team definitely did!
The Phoenix & the Fox range is funky and unique, adding a bright touch to any wardrobe.
All Phoenix & the Fox garments are made from soft and luxurious 100% certified organic cotton so they not only look great but also feel amazing.
We were excited to learn more about founder and designer, Jennifer Green and her Phoenix & the Fox story.
Phoenix and the Fox is quite a new brand that we have quickly fallen in love with. What made you take the jump and start Phoenix & the Fox?
I was working with fashion label Camilla & Marc when I fell pregnant with my first son, Phoenix. When I was on maternity leave I definitely still had that creative urge. After Phoenix’s birth this urge changed focus from adult to children’s design and clothing!
Like most Mums, shopping turned in to searching for clothes for Phoenix instead of myself. During this time I found there weren’t many fashion forward children’s prints and designs, especially for boys. This was a light bulb moment for me!
I have always loved designing textiles and designing for children has given me so much creative freedom which I have now embraced through Phoenix and the Fox.
What is your background? Have you always studied fashion & design?
I have always loved design and fashion and started studying fashion design and textiles when I was 17. I studied at Whitehouse Institute of Design and have now been working in the fashion industry for over 10 years. I still love it to this day and know this is where my passion lies.
Where does the Pheonix & the Fox magic happen?
I work from home with a special space set up, my own studio. This gives me flexibility and also means I can be close to Phoenix.
Tell us more about your family?
My wonderful family includes myself, my husband Tom and our now 2 year old son, Phoenix.
What do you and Tom get up to in your spare time?
We love to entertain and can always find an excuse to host a lunch or dinner with friends. Tom has a Smoker BBQ which he loves to get out and cook American style BBQs on. There’s nothing better than good company and food!
What is a typical Sunday routine at home?
Slow! There’s nothing better than sharing cuddles with Phoenix on a Sunday morning and enjoying a relaxed breakfast together as a family. We love going to our local park or the Sydney Fish Markets to get something nice for dinner.
Where is your Happy Place?
We all love the beach and spend a lot of time at Terrigal Beach on the NSW Central coast.
And finally, what’s one tip you can give to parents when choosing their children’s wardrobe?
I tend to stick with my own number rule – quality over quantity. It is especially important for kids to be comfortable when they are running around. You can’t beat being comfy!
