We all know that things change after having kids! Some get stretch marks that tend to stick around, others are left with a belly that just won’t budge. As amazing as pregnancy is, it definitely does take its toll on our bodies.
One thing that will have many of us cringing is the thought of having our legs on display. During pregnancy, legs can become puffy and swollen by the end of each day and unfortunately for some, the inflammation can hang around long after giving birth.
Antisax is a new product that cares about your tired and swollen legs and can help keep your legs feeling healthy day after day. Antistax has put together some tips for dealing with swollen legs. Some of these are as follows:
Exercise while sitting down
The following exercises are excellent for improving leg circulation:
Foot & Ankle rotation - Sitting in your chair, cross your right leg over your left knee. Rotate your right foot slowly, making large complete circles. Perform 10-15 rotations and then repeat on your other side.
Ankle Eversion & Inversion- Sit comfortably in a chair and extend your legs forwards. Evert your ankles, so that your heels are touching, straighten your feet out as far as you can (if possible so that your toes are in line with your heels). Hold for 2-3 seconds. Now invert your ankles, by turning the soles outwards and away from each other and the toes inwards as far as comfortable and hold for a few seconds. Perform 5 times in each direction.
Ankle Flexion & Extension- Sit back in the chair with legs extended, flex your foot and toes towards the body. Now point the foot and toes away from body. Perform 10-15 with each foot.
A healthy, balanced diet filled with lots of fibre, fresh fruit and vegetables is not only good for our overall health and wellbeing but can also help maintain good leg circulation and keep the heart healthy. Many of these natural foods contain flavonoids which help both blood vessels and circulation remain healthy.
As well as eating a balanced diet, ensuring junk food and saturated fat intake is kept to a minimum and making sure you are drinking enough water will also help improve the overall health of your legs.
Not only can good posture make you look taller, leaner and more confident, it can also play a part in how your legs feel with poor posture making your heavy, aching and tired legs feel even worse.
Sometimes we have no choice but to be stuck sitting or standing for long periods of time. It is important to ensure you keep moving by regularly changing positions and stretching your legs, feet and ankles. If possible, try not to cross your legs as this can restrict blood flow to and from the legs and increase pressure in your leg veins.
Try to ensure your shoulders are back, your chest is up and your stomach is pulled in.
While a healthy diet, regular exercise and maintaining good posture can help some people, for others, they may find a leg health supplement like Antisax tablets can help. Antistax works by improving the blood flow in your legs to promote healthy leg circulation and relieve tired, heavy, aching legs. In fact Antistax has clinical evidence showing that it may improve swelling in your legs from as soon as 3-4 weeks.*
