When we contacted Amber to chat about her and her mum Jo’s gorgeous store, The Infant Boutique, she had her hands full with a teething child. But it’s all in a day’s work for this mother-daughter team, who took over the beautiful store in 2012 and haven’t looked back.
Established in 2006, it didn’t take long at all for The Infant Boutique to become a mecca for stunning baby gifts, clothing, kids fashion, nursery goods and more. Amber and Jo saw the delightful boutique in Adelaide’s Norwood as a wonderful opportunity to do business in an industry they not only loved, but in which they had plenty of experience (albeit from the other side of the counter!). In addition, Jo had been running the highly successful Send A Gourmet Basket, and so both businesses assumed residence in wonderfully charming period home, and The Infant Boutique began its second chapter.
Amber and Jo continue to fill their store with exquisite, practical and innovative products and gifts. When she’s not teething, little Aubrey loves to join her mum and grandma in welcoming visitors and testing the occasional gift (or two!) as well.
The Infant Boutique has established a presence amongst South Australian mums and grandmas as not only the source for many a gorgeous gift, but simply a lovely way to while away some time exploring the latest finds for little ones.
According to Amber, one of the most enduring and well-loved products in-store is the Blabla knitted dolls, which are hand-knitted in Peru. Each doll has its own character and name, and becomes an instantly loved and treasured piece by its owner.
And The Infant Boutique continues to grow, with the arrival of a little sibling for Aubrey expected in July this year. Another smiley little face to meet and greet customers!
